Foot Orthotics For Customized Health & Well-Being
Pain in your knees, hips, back, and neck, along with heel and arch discomfort, can often be traced back to problems with your feet. If you’re on your feet all day, improper support in your footwear combined with imbalance in posture or a prolonged physical position can result in torsion within the skeletal-muscular system. Orthotics are custom-fitted devices that work by adjusting the position and movement of different parts of your foot that can correct your posture and alignment. We offer footprint evaluation and custom orthotic construction and fitting for different types of orthotics.
How do orthotics help?
Orthotics can help with difficulties caused by the lack of arch support, low arches, high arches, and physical misalignment. When the structures of your foot are not properly aligned, the rest of your body adjusts to compensate resulting in problems that can occur in your feet, legs, hips, back and even your shoulders.
Ensure Proper Fit and Support
How do I know if I need orthotics?
Your chiropractor can let you know if using orthotics would be to your advantage. Orthotics could be a solution if you have recurring pain in your arches, heels, toes or other foot joints. Bunions, hammer toes and pain in the knees, legs, hips or other joints can also indicate problems that may be eased through the use of orthotics.
Do I have to wear my orthotics all the time?
The benefits of your orthotics will become more apparent the more often your wear your orthotic devices. Wearing your orthotics at regular intervals and changing them as you change your shoes helps assure that the devices enforce a consistent pressure as it is needed.
My new orthotics feel uncomfortable. Is that normal?
Yes. Your body will need time to adjust to the redistribution of pressure within your feet and joints. The more often you wear your orthotics, the faster your body will adjust and realign, causing less discomfort and a healthier physical alignment.
