What is chiropractic care?
A chiropractor does more than just relieve pain in your neck, back and other joints. Chiropractic care involves making sure that the musculoskeletal and nervous systems of your body work together the way they are supposed to.
Sometimes, pain or discomfort is caused by minor mis-alignments. These mis-alignments can be caused by the strains of daily activities such as repetitive movements, sitting in an uncomfortable chair for long periods of time, or even because of footwear with inadequate support. In addition to pain and discomfort, mis-alignments can cause tingling and numbness, pinched nerves and stiffness. Such problems can be easily remedied by simple adjustments or manipulation.
Chiropractic adjustments can also help alleviate pain and symptoms for more chronic ailments which might be caused by trauma, such as from car accidents or work injuries, arthritis, sports injuries, and diseases such as scoliosis.
How does a chiropractor help?
A chiropractor uses their hands in combination with physical manipulation equipment to examine, diagnose and manipulate the body without the use of drugs or invasive procedures.
Manipulation of the spine and joints works to re-align the musculoskeletal system to affect how the muscles, nervous system and skeleton work together. These adjustments help to relieve pressure on muscles and nerves, in turn improving blood flow in order heal, reduce pain and increase your range of motion.
A chiropractor is, essentially, a mechanic for the human body. As mechanics, it is our duty to assess why your body is not functioning as it should be and make the necessary adjustments to get you on the road to recovery.
